CRAVEN JR., John G. of Winthrop, passed away on September 12, 2016, at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Facility in Revere. He was 68. He was the beloved husband of Carol Swenson (Swenson). Born in Brookline, MA, he was the son of John G. Sr. and Dorothea (Maul) Craven of Dayton, OH. Dear brother of Robert Craven of Beaver Creek, OH and James Craven of Melrose Park IL. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and his 2 faithful companions, his dogs Annie and Gabe. A visiting hour will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. Winthrop, on Sat, Sept 17, beginning at 10am, followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation 1411 K Street, NW, Suite 800, Washington D.C. 20005. John was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1971-1973, and held the rank of 1st LT. He was a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH and was a current member of their alumni assn.
