Mary H. (Roberto) Novelline, Of Burlington, formerly of Medford, died Sunday at the Winchester Nursing Center, after a brief illness. She was 92.
Mrs. Novelline was born in Boston’s North End and raised in Arlington, the daughter of the late Silvestro and the late Carmela (Marano) Roberto.
After her marriage she settled in Medford and lived there for 40 years before moving to Burlington where she has lived since 1969. A dedicated housewife and mother, Mary’s family was her first priority. She loved to cook and care for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of the late William Novelline. She was a devoted mother to William Novelline, Jr. and his wife Eileen of North Andover, Sylvester Novelline and his wife Maureen of Hudson, NH, Antoinette Byrnes and her husband Michael of Tewksbury, Gary Novelline and his wife Noreen of Peabody. She was a loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Malachy Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington, Thursday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may attend visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
