Daniel E. “Danny” Switzer, 42, of Woonsocket died Thursday September 8, 2016 at home.
Born and raised in Woonsocket he was a son of Frank E. Switzer of Cumberland and the late Carol (Charette) Switzer. He was a resident of Woonsocket for most of his life.
Mr. Switzer served in the U. S Navy as a hospital corpsman.
Danny later worked as a CNA at several area nursing homes including the Holiday in Manville. He also worked for the CVS warehouse, Med Tech and the IHOP restaurant.
Danny enjoyed participating in activities at the Fr. Marot CYO Center in Woonsocket and had a special place in his heart for his cat Halo.
In addition to his dad Frank and his wife, Gloria Menard, Danny is survived by a brother Steven Switzer and a sister Linda Tellier and her husband, Michael, both of Woonsocket. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
His funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Agatha Church, Fairfield Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary, 266 Mendon Rd. Woonsocket, RI. 02895.
