Obituary

Charles T. Flannery, beloved father and son, passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2016 at the age of 68. Charles, “Chas” or “Charlie”, was born in Taunton to Liberty (Alegi) Flannery and Charles L. Flannery, the late MA State Representative, both of Taunton. Chas resided in Taunton most of his life, but spent many cherished years living in Pocasset. He was educated in Taunton schools and graduated from Coyle High School. He later attended the University of Massachusetts Boston. Charles was the longtime owner of Flannery Real Estate and later in life found great joy in being an actor. Charles was a member of the Boston Screen Actors Guild, North Bristol Board of Realtors, and the Sons of Italy Peter B. Gay Lodge. He enjoyed cooking, telling a good joke, rooting for Boston sports teams, keeping up with a large community of online friends, and hosting his TV series “Charlie Flannery Presents”. He was also a music lover and musician, who performed with several bands in his younger years. Above all, Charlie cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, mother, and the extended Flannery and Alegi families. Chas will be remembered most for his big heart and great sense of humor. Charlie leaves his loving children: Nico Flannery-Pitcher and her husband David of Swampscott; Charles Cash Flannery of Pocasset; and Andrea Nickerson and her husband Patrick of Portland, Maine. He also leaves his step children who he thought of as his own: Laura Sciortino and her husband Daniel of Falmouth; Katy Mehrtens and her husband Michael of Falmouth; and Abram Faria of Pocasset along with their mother Nancy (Moak) Flannery. He was a proud Nonno to Johanna and Dashel Mehrtens and Henry and Cordelia Sciortino. Charlie leaves his brother and best friend Brian Flannery of Naples, FL and his late sister Patty Flannery. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 5-8 pm at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780.
