Dennis J. Asselin, age 66, passed away on Sept 5, 2016 surrounded by his family at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on May 2, 1950 in Chicopee to the late Henry and Aurore (Desmarais) Asselin. He was a communicate of Our Lady of the Cross Church in Holyoke. Dennis graduated Chicopee High in 1968 and enlisted in the United States Army Reserve where he served for 23 years. Dennis worked for Smith & Wesson and was there for 33 years and also worked for Yankee Candle for 5 years. Dennis was also a member of The Beavers Club of Western Mass. He leaves his loving wife Theresa (Lake) Asselin of Holyoke; one son Brett Asselin of Royalton; two daughters Dawn Asselin of Chicopee and Jennifer Picard of Enfield, CT; one brother Leo Asselin of South Hadley; one sister Yvette Courchesne and her husband Paul of Chicopee and three grandchildren Haley and Lauren Picard and Ryan Asselin and also many nieces and nephews A Funeral Service will be held on Sat, Sept 10, 2016 at 8:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee, MA 01013 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Cross Church in Holyoke. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery in Chicopee. Calling Hours will be held on Fri, Sept 9, 2016 from 4 - 7 PM at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
