Peter Ezovski, 91, formerly of Mendon Rd., Cumberland died Sunday September 11, 2016 at Woonsocket Health Center. He was the loving husband of the late Yvette M. (Laliberte) Ezovski. They were married for over 56 years at the time of her passing in 2013.
Born in Manville he was a son of the late Max and Dora (Sowka) Ezovski. He was a resident of Manville prior to moving to Cumberland
Mr. Ezovski served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was awarded the WWII Victory and American Area Medals, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal with 2 Stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal.
Mr. Ezovski was employed as a signal inspector by Amtrak for over 35 years and had also worked for the New Haven, Penn Central Railroads and Conrail.
Peter was member of the Alphonse Yelle Post 9 American Legion in Manville and also Disabled American Veterans. Peter was a staunch New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed following politics and was a supporter of the Boy Scouts.
Peter is survived by a son Mark P. Ezovski and his partner, Rebecca Gallagher, of Manhattan, New York and a daughter Lynn M. Ezovski and her partner, Stephen Mercier, of Kerhonkson, NY. He was the brother of the late Stephen, Nicholas, Michael, John and Theodore Ezovski, Mary Crawford, Olga Ezovski and Anne Calvey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:45 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 71 Central St. Manville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund c/o Dana Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA. 02884-9168 or to your local Boy Scouts.
