Obituary

Laconia, NH----Virginia "Ginny" Frances Williams, 84, of Kinsman Drive, former longtime resident of Hingham, MA, and Hancock, NH, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 29, 2016, at Concord Hospital.

Ginny was born May 22, 1932 in Quincy, MA, daughter to the late John S. and Kathryn A. (Walton) Leake.

Ginny had many interests that she shared with her family and friends - volunteer work, making music, traveling, camping, hiking, gardening, feeding wild birds, sewing, quilting, sewing circles with her friends, interior decorating, oil painting, genealogy, reading, and writing. She also loved to sing and was very active in her respective churches as she moved. Ginny doted on her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed giving them experiences they would otherwise never enjoy. She also enjoyed sailing with her husband, and they sailed together from the early days of their marriage (including 15 years living exclusively on a sailboat) for over 60 years, sailing out of Quisset Harbor, Falmouth, MA, before retiring to the Lakes Region several years ago.

Ginny is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Dwight H. Williams; four sons, Ronald Williams and his wife Phyllis of NC, Alan Williams and his wife Diane Leonard of MD, Thomas Williams and his partner Anita Jacobson of MA, Jonathan Williams and his wife Amanda of MD; and a daughter, Pamela Williams of NH. She also is survived by 12 grandchildren, Amy Lowery of NC, Corey Williams of DC, Jake Williams of MA, Sarah Jessurun and Sam Jessurun both of NH, Eric Williams of FL, Jessica Williams of MA, Lindsey Williams of SC, Melissa Williams, Jimmy Williams, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Williams all of MD; 4 great-grandchildren, Abigale Williams of PA, Lucy Weeden of NH, Logan Lowery and Parks Lowery of NC; a brother, Warren Leake and his wife Delores of TX, a sister-in-law, Delores Leake of WA, and seven nephews and several cousins. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Williams, and three brothers - infant Leake, Clifton Leake and his wife, Carrie, and Norman Leake.

There will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of Life will be celebrated Sunday, Sep. 25th at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Gilford-Laconia, 18 Wesley Way, Gilford, NH 03249. The Williams family invites their friends to join them in the function room at Woodside in the Taylor Community following the service.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Heifer International, a charity that Ginny often chose to gift.
