Clay F. Sidwell, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Arbor Baptist Church in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Arbor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Sidwell was born August 26, 1927, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Edgar B. & Lennie Connell Sidwell. Mr. Sidwell retired as district service manager of General Telephone Company after 39 years of service. He was an active member of Arbor Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the Fellowship Sunday school class.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Angi & Mike Morrison of Kennesaw; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Iris Pridgen Sidwell; two sons, Kenneth M. Sidwell and Gregory B. Sidwell; a grandson, S. Chad Sidwell; a brother, E. Carlton Sidwell; and two sisters, Betty Gentry and Carolyn Foxworthy.
