Maria do Espirito Santo (Rebelo) Raposo, age 89, of Fall River passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016. Born in Lomba da Maia São Miguel Açores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel da Ponte and Maria (da Melo) Rebelo and wife of the late Jose Raposo. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, and a devoted parishioner of St. Michael’s Church.
Maria is survived by her children; Manuel F. Raposo (wife Helena) of Assonet, Nuno A. Raposo (wife Grace) of Berkley, Jose G. Raposo Daytona Beach, FL, Maria Fatima Raposo of Fall River, and Mario J. Raposo of Swansea, sister; Maria de Jesus Couto, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Messias Melo and Mariano Melo Rebelo.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday here at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M.
