Harold C. Ketterle a resident of Medford since 1968 and beloved husband of Sylvia M. (Ravioli) Ketterle, passed away at his home on Thursday evening, September 8, 2016. He was 87 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 25, 1929, he was the beloved son of the late John and Mary E. (Welsch) Ketterle. Harold entered the Army at Boston on August 5, 1949 and received his honorable discharge from Ft. Devens on April 25, 1952. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the United Nations Ribbon and the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars for his service. In civilian life, Mr. Ketterle worked as a Paper Cutter for many years. He will be dearly missed.
Besides his beloved wife, Sylvia, he is survived by his two sons; Glenn P. Ketterle and Stephen C. Ketterle, both of Medford and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, from 5 to 8 PM. Interment will be private.
