Marion C. Lagana, of Chester, NH died Tuesday, September 6, 2016 after a short illness. Marion was born in Lawrence, MA on June 14, 1931 to the late Giuseppe and Catherine (Corabi) Pappalardo. She was a resident of Chester, NH for the past 35 years, formerly of Salem, NH. Marion deeply loved and cared for her family. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing incredible Italian meals and entertaining family and friends. She liked to share past history of her family and tell stories of her youth. Marion also loved country music and singing Karaoke.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Lagana of Chester, NH, two daughters, Josie Estes and her husband Robert, and Catherine Lagana all of Salem, NH, two daughters-in-law; Gayle Sutton and her husband Thomas of York, ME, and Ramona Strojevs of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, eight grandchildren; Michelle and her husband Matthew Draghetti, William and his wife Kristen Letourneau, Sebastian Lagana and his fiancé Carly Gumpert, Marion and her husband Robert Read, Matthew Blunt, Angela Estes, Joseph Estes and Katie Lagana; four great-grandchildren; Ryan and his sister Nicole Letourneau and Brady and his brother Michael Draghetti. Marion also leaves her companion, Jeannot Caron of Lawrence, MA, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Sebastian (Ned) Lagana, her son, Angelo Lagana, and by her brothers, Samuel, Morris and Joseph Pappalardo, and by her sister, Carmela (Pappalardo) Diprima.
There are no calling hours. A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry. Burial was in St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.
