Obituary

Mary C. Schwartz, a longtime Woburn resident passed away peacefully, September 7, 2016, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, following a brief illness. She was 91 years of age. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Joseph G. Schwartz. Born in Somerville, she was one of twelve children of the late Antonio and Civita (Ranucci) DiNitto.

Mary was raised and educated in Cambridge. Shortly after her marriage she settled in Woburn with her husband and started their family bringing three children into the world. Family was Mary's main focus in life, always making sure that her husband and children had everything they needed. Mary worked for many years with Concord Caterers, formerly of Burlington, prior to her retirement. Throughout the years Mary enjoyed spending the summer months in Conway, NH with her family. She loved traveling, always with family and friends and was fortunate to travel all over Europe visiting Paris, France, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, London, England and also traveled to Egypt to name a few destinations. In her later years she enjoyed spending time and being active at the Woburn Senior Center where she loved socializing and volunteering. She will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by her devoted children, Joseph Schwartz Jr. and his wife Diane of Groveland, FL, Richard Schwartz and his wife Cindy of Freedom, NH, and Mary Ann Schwartz of Woburn. She is also survived by five loving grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. She was the cherished sister of sister of Doris Mizen, Flora Valente, Raymond DiNitto, Agatha Patrick, the late Margaret Cavalaro, Nancy Spinoza, Ann Calderon, Angelo, Vincent, Cosmo, and Daniel DiNitto.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Monday, September 12th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held Sunday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mary's memory to the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 North Lipkey Rd. North Jackson, Ohio 44451.
