Sister of Marie Doherty of Brookline, Edward Donovan and his wife Ann of Quincy, William Donovan and his wife Teri of PA, Patrick Donovan of CA and the late Claire Downing. Sister in law of George and Joan Kerr of Brockton. Special aunt of the late Jay Doherty.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church (formerly St. Edward) at 9 am. Burial in St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Dorothy E. (Donovan) Kerr 79 years of Framingham died Saturday at the Metrowest Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Frederick J. Kerr.
Born and raised in Boston a daughter of the late Ernest and Dorothy (Reavey) Donovan, she was a graduate of Academy of the Assumption High School and also attended Boston University.
Since 1953 she had been a resident of Framingham most recently residing at Carlyle House. She had been a homemaker in her own home but had also worked at JJ Newberry in Framingham and Digital Corp. in Maynard.
Mrs. Kerr enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and watching her children’s sporting events. She loved Sunday rides with her husband, dining out and watching all Boston team sports on television with him.
She is survived by her two sons and a daughter Joseph Kerr and Edward Kerr both of Virginia and Deb Cheesebro of Michigan, two grandchildren Jason Cheesebro of Michigan and Ali Kerr of Virginia, a sister of Marie Doherty of Brookline, three brothers Edward Donovan of Quincy, William Donovan of PA, Patrick Donovan of CA. She was the sister in law of George and Joan Kerr of Brockton.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Claire Downing
