In Taunton, September 5, 2016 Marguerite E. (Chamberlain) Fielding, passed away in Morton Hospital, following a brief period of declining health. Marguerite is survived by her beloved husband Robert Fielding, with whom she was blessed with sixty-three years of marriage. She was born in Taunton, MA, the daughter of the late Mayor for the City of Taunton Joseph C. & Marguerite (Yelle) Chamberlain. Marguerite spent most of her life in Taunton and retired to her summer home in Wareham. She was educated in Taunton schools and was employed as a clerk for the Registry of Deeds for Bristol County for over twenty years. Marguerite had a deep faith in Christ and lived each day with compassion and generosity toward others. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Church Women’s Guild and also the choir. She enjoyed baking and cooking wonderful meals for others, gardening, playing cards, preserving family photographs, walking and she was very creative and artistic. Above all Marguerite was a devoted Wife, Mom and Grandmother, and Great-grandmother who cherished her time with family and most enjoyed celebrating special occasions with them. Marguerite will be missed dearly and always remembered for her integrity and strong work ethic and the home cooked meals and feeling of being loved she gave to all who knew her. In addition to her husband, Marguerite leaves her four beloved daughters Sharon Thurston of Raleigh, N.C., Patricia Hardy and her husband Robert of Taunton, Janice Sprague and her husband Randy of Bar Harbor, ME and Andrea Kaneb and husband Stephen of South Hampton, NH. She also leaves her siblings Eveline Cabral and her husband Ralph of Taunton, J. Charles Chamberlain and his wife Claire of Massapequa, NY and Marie Sousa of Taunton. Marguerite also leaves her loving grandchildren Robert Thurston and his wife Jennifer, Andrew Thurston, Matthew Stevenson, Alex Hardy, Amy Sundberg and her husband Soren, Erin Wusterbarth and her husband Andrew, Brendan Sprague, Michael Kaneb and his wife Chelsea, Phillip Kaneb, Jacqueline Kaneb, Kevin Kaneb, and Angel Kaneb. She leaves two great grandchildren Caleb Thurston and Seraphina Thurston. She also leaves grandchildren Jessica Paterson and her husband Michael and their children Kyle, Ryan and Eve and Robert Hardy and his wife Nancy and their children Adam and Grace, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews and dear friends. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Friday, September 9th at 10 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 6-8 pm. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
