Beatrice M. Duarte, 82, of New Bedford died September 2, 2016 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Manuel M. and Candida (Pires) Duarte, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Survivors include 3 sons, Richard Duarte of Westport, Stephen Duarte of New Bedford and Carlton Neves of Dartmouth; 2 daughters, Diane Duarte of St. Petersburg, FL and Brenda Duarte of New Bedford; a brother, Jack Duarte of New Mexico; a sister, Maria Duarte of Orlando, FL; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Christopher Duarte and the sister of the late George Duarte.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 10th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, September 9th from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
