He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Born in Louisville, KY 7-29-1935, to Marie (Martin) and John Gaus Jr.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, Verna M. (Gahafer) Gaus, his parents, Marie and John W. Gaus Jr., brother, John W. Gaus III.
Survivors: his 7 children; Paula Curl (Neil), Paul “Sam” (Melinda) Gaus, Patrick (Donna) Gaus, Toni Gaus, Kenny Joe (Joni), Terri Gaus and Mark Gaus; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; brothers, Michael Gaus and Richard Gaus; sisters, Betty Jean Gregory, Beverly Gibson, Joy Wright, Sharon Blakeman, Lisa Mercer.
Visitation – 2 P.M. to 8 P.M., Thursday, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway . Funeral mass on Friday 11 A.M. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Highway, with entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens, West.
