David Michael Boone, 61, of Sumner passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Gordon Poole officiating. Mr. Boone will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 8, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Boone’s nephews and brothers-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 5, 1955 in Tampa, Florida, Mr. Boone was the son of the late Clarence Lloyd Boone, Sr. and Vera Mae Stone Boone. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Milliones Boone; a son, Clarence David Boone; two brothers, Clarence Lloyd Boone, Jr. and Donald Lee Boone; and a sister, Vera Sue Boone. He was a retired dairy farmer.
Mr. Boone is survived by his wife, Carlene Varnadore Boone of Sumner; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward Dewayne and Johnette Boone of Albany; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Lance Griffin of Ty Ty; three brothers, Stanley Lamar Boone of Americus, William Lee Boone of Tifton and Daniel L. Boone of Ray City; six sisters, Shirley Strawbridge of Cullman, Alabama, Diane Renae of Tifton, Patricia Fredericks of Ty Ty, Brenda Staines of Nashville, Barbara Dorden of Fort Orange, Florida and Judy Staines of Ray City; three grandchildren, Courtney Marie Harrison, Brittany Michelle Griffin and Clarence Lane Griffin; four step-children; and ten step-grandchildren.
