Elizabeth A. (Eisnor) Demers of Woburn passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 1, 2016, her 91st birthday. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth R. and Mabel (Preston) Eisnor.
In 1960, Betty married Eugene A. Demers of Cambridge and they had been married for 47 years upon his passing in 2007. Shortly after their marriage in 1961, they moved to Woburn to settle down and raise a family. In 1962, Betty and Gene welcomed their son, Eugene L. Demers to the world.
Betty’s professional career spanned many years working for several printing companies, including her tenure at LPI printing company of Stoneham as a shift foreperson. Always known as an independent woman, Betty made countless friends while working at LPI.
In her leisure time, Betty enjoyed traveling including her trips to visit her sister in Canada, having countless cookouts for family and friends by the swimming pool, as well as teaching a ceramics class from her basement in Woburn.
The most cherished of her time was spent with both of her grandchildren whether it was taking a day trip to Canobie Lake Park or venturing to Florida to visit family and Disney World.
Betty was the beloved mother of Eugene L. Demers and his wife Lisa, and cherished grandmother of Joseph E. Demers and Kristiana Forsyth and her husband Robert, all of Woburn. She is survived by her sister, Fayette Henley of Nova Scotia, and many loving nieces, nephews, and dear family friends. She was predeceased by several siblings.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, Monday, Sept. 12th at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10AM at the church. Services will conclude with private internment at the Massachusetts National Military Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
