Judith Ann Colella passed away unexpectedly at the Winchester Hospital on Wednesday, August 31st. She was 69. Raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Dorothy (Guarente) DiMarzo. A resident of Reading for 47 years, she enjoyed a 20 year career as a special education teacher with the Reading Public Schools. Judy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed time at home in the company of her family and friends. Judy also looked forward to time at her mountain home at Lovell Lake in New Hampshire. There she decorated her home with butterflies and had loved spending summers with her grandchildren.
The beloved wife of Richard Colella, with whom she shared nearly 50 years of marriage, she was a devoted mother to Richard Colella Jr. and his wife Andrea of Reading and Christine M. Castelli and her husband Joseph of Reading. She was a loving grandmother to Alex, Jordyn, Joseph, Ashley, Anthony and Richard III. She was the dear sister of the late Michael DiMarzo.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St, Reading, Friday September 9 at 10:30 AM followed by burial at Wood End Cemetery, Reading. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
