Justin Louis Stephens Smith, 25, of Tifton, Georgia, passed Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Pastor Joe Crews and Minister Steven L. Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Justin was born January 12, 1991, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Louis Stephens, Jr. and Flo Newton Harper. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved to eat, especially filet mignon and shrimp. Starbucks was a favorite place to visit as well. He enjoyed gaming on his Play Station and loved to travel, Panama City Beach being a favorite destination.
He is survived by his husband, Brandon Smith of Tifton; parents: Flo & Chris Harper of Fitzgerald and Louis Stephens, Jr. & Stephanie Crosby of Rochelle; siblings and their spouses: Mary McMillan & Shay Gandy of Fitzgerald, William Stephens of Ocilla, Rebecca “Becky” Stephens & Nichole of Albany, Kim & Corey Dixon of Fitzgerald, Michael P. Johns of Atlanta, Brandy Johns Drinnon & Bobby of Cordele, Casey Harper of Fitzgerald, and Christy & Chuck Black of Fitzgerald; his mother-in-law, Ann Curry of Sylvester; his father-in-law, Tony & Felicia Smith of Albany, two sisters-in-law, Mia Marshall of Sylvester and Tonika Smith of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandparents: Mattie T. Stephens of Rochelle, Bill & Annette Newton of Fitzgerald, and Kathy & Rob DiLisio of Fitzgerald; a grandmother-in-law, Elizabeth Curry of Sylvester. Justin is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis Stephens, Sr. and Mildred & Jesse Cleghorn; a cousin, Jonathan Owens; and a nephew, Austin “Hitch” McMillan.
