New Bedford – Robert “Bobby” Jaimes Constant, 57, of Hyannis died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Gail (Smith) Constant.
Mr. Constant was born and raised in New Bedford, son of the late Robert L. and Laura (Camacho) Constant, he resided in New Bedford most of his life, moving to Hyannis when he married. He was educated in New Bedford Public Schools and graduated from New Bedford High School. Robert was formerly employed as a truck driver for the City of New Bedford until his retirement.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by one step-daughter: Nicole Faria of Centerville; three step-grandchildren: Louann Moss, Rozland Moss and Kaylee Anderson, all of Centerville; one sister: Lisa M. Constant of Acushnet; one brother-in-law: Robert Smith and his wife, Dawn, and their children of Milford; his faithful dog and companion, Penny; two godchildren; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, 5-7:30 P.M. followed immediately by funeral services at 7:30 P.M.
