Obituary

SPENCER – Robert E. King, 60, of Spencer died Friday, July 29 at home from complications related to lung cancer.

Mr. King leaves his wife of 36 years Lois (Lambert) King of Spencer; six children, Clifford Gaulin and his wife Sue (Thomas) of Charlton; Michelle (Gaulin) Branconnier and her husband Paul of Brookfield, Lisa (Gaulin) Fountain of Mt. Dora, FL; Shane King and his wife Marie (Terry) of Spencer; Eleanor King and her fiancé Jamie Ross of Spencer, Stanley King and his wife Belinda (Buss) of Bedford, NH; nine grandchildren John and Craig Branconnier, Clifford, Jacob, Jesse and Devin Gaulin, Marcus and Hope Ross and Rheya King; several nieces and nephews; a brother Roger King of Athol; and a sister Joanne Goldstein of Worcester. He is predeceased by a sister Mildred Kabasinsky and several close friends. He was born in Worcester son of Eleanor (Conner) and Herman King.

Mr. King proudly served four years in the United States Air Force as a crash rescue firefighter during the Vietnam War. He worked for Busy Bee Landscaping for many years before going into business for himself as Best of the Best Landscaping. He loved astronomy and was also an avid hunter and fisherman who always spoke of the one that got away. Mr. King was a devoted family man and friend whom would open his home to anybody in need.

Family and friends are invited to Mr. King’s home at 6 I Capen Rd., Spencer on Saturday, August 6 at 1 PM for a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Massachusetts Veterans Shelter, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
