Mary A. (Ferreira) Lupo, a 20 year resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown for over 40 years, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at her home in Somerville. She was 79 years of age.
Mary was born in Troy, New York on March, 30, 1937 a daughter of the late Arthur Ferreira and Edna Ruth (Hamilton) Ferreira. Mary spent her early years in New York before moving to Massachusetts to attend boarding school. Mary was a homemaker for most of her life, taking care of her beloved family.
Mary is the beloved wife of 58 years to Joseph F. Lupo. She is the devoted mother of Mary Battinelli and her husband Catello, Patricia Lunardi, and Linda Brown. She is the loving nana to Gina Battinelli, Catello Battinelli III, Angela Lunardi, Jennifer Lunardi, Nicole Lunardi, Anthony Lunardi, Samantha Brown, and Jacob Brown. She is the beloved sister of Janice Grace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's funeral on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 9 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. CHARLESTOWN, followed by her funeral procession to the V.A. National Cemetery in Bourne for her burial at 11:30 A.M. Her visiting hours will be on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
