SOMERSET – Alice (Oliveira) Amaral, age 90 of Somerset and formerly of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 01, 2016. Born in Swansea, MA she was the daughter of the late Manuel Oliveira and the late Marcalina (Pacheco) Oliveira. She was also the beloved wife of the late Manuel J. Amaral.
Prior to retiring, Alice worked for many years at Bayside Manufacturing as a Sewing Machine Operator. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, especially her best friend Maggie Hayes, her dog “Jake” & her cat “Kitty Kitty”.
She is survived by her children: Madeline Oliveira (husband Keith) of Swansea, MA, Theresa Quirk (late husband Stephen) of Bluffton, SC, and James Amaral (wife Denise) of Elkton, FL; 4 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Oliveira, Seraphin Oliveira, Dennis Oliveira, & Mary Pacheco.
Her funeral service will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. There Are No Separate Calling Hours. www.rogersfuneral.com.
