Obituary

Mary Simpson White, Ventura native, passed away at 10:20pm on Thursday, August 31st, eight days prior to her 93rd birthday.
Mary was born in Ventura on September 8, 1923 to Carl A. & Grace U. Simpson, the youngest of two girls.
Mary Attended Holy Cross School and Ventura High School. Upon graduation, she began her 40-year career with Shell Oil Co. During her time at Shell, she was a member of Desk & Derrick and the Petroleum Club, where she acquired many, many, many friends.
Mary attended Mass and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years at the San Buenaventura Mission. She had a wicked sense of humor and befriended many neighbors and passerbies over the years from her porch on the 400 block of Ventura Avenue. Mary will be missed by many.
Mary is survived by her twin nieces, Lora Ruffin and Lorna Jordan, their husbands Danny Ruffin and Paul Jordan, 7 grand nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Grace Simpson, and her sister Catherine Vogt.
Her family would like to thank the following people who cared for her with unconditional love and compassion: Elena Velasquez, Maria Carmona, Juana Zavala, and Lyna Pascuau, the Livingston Care Givers and the entire staff at Tracey Villa.
Visiting hours will be Thursday September 8, 2016 from 5 to 7p, in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME, 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. Celebration of Mass will be Friday September 9, 2016 at 10am in the San Buenaventura Mission.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in Mary's name or to the San Buenaventura Mission.
