Obituary

Hunt Chor Chan, 83, of Litchfield, NH, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Greenbriar Terrace, Nashua, NH. Born in Guangdong, China on August 2, 1933, Hunt was raised and educated in Hong Kong. He immigrated to the United States in 1978 and was a longtime resident of Litchfield. Hunt graduated from Hong Kong Pui Ching Middle School and South China Agricultural University. He was a botany professor at the Guangdong Provincial Gaozhou Agricultural College. He was employed at Sanders (BAE Systems) in Nashua as an electronics technician.

He enjoyed classical music, and played many wind and string instruments. He also enjoyed black and white as well as color photography; and was an avid designer of stereos and radios, and built many stereo and radio receivers for his hobby.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hui Lan (Liang) Chan, known to her friends as Wanda; their two sons, Karl Chan of Litchfield, and Michael Chan and his wife Kismet of Londonderry, NH; his grandchildren, Philip Chan and Mindy Chan of Londonderry; two brothers, Ken Chin and his wife Cathy of Rhode Island, Young Chin and his wife Kana of VA, his nieces and nephews, Amy Chin, Jenny McGillicuddy and her husband Chris, Christopher Chin and wife Emily, Karen Repsher and husband John. He was predeceased by his daughter Yu Bao Chan and his elder brother YC Chin of NY. He was the second son of Mount Dow Chan and May Ting Liu Chan.

Calling hours were held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 10:00am to 12:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Graveside services followed at 1:00pm in the Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry. A gathering for family and friends will be held at Michael and Kismet’s home in Londonderry from 6 to 8pm following services.
