Anna (DiCenso) Antonellis of Medford died on Thursday, September 1, at Brigham and Women's Hospital of Boston. Born in Sulmona, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Rosa (Amatanangelo) DiCenso.
Anna came to the U.S. at the age of five. She lived in Boston's North End before settling in Medford 40 years ago, where she owned and operated Asymmetrics Hair Salon. Anna later served as a reading aide at McGlynn Elementary School, and in 2012 earned a bachelor's degree from Cambridge college.
Anna was the beloved wife of Costanzo "Chris" Antonellis and the devoted mother of Rick Antonellis, Jessica Paparo and her husband Derek, all of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Giulia, Derek and Dante Paparo, and the sister of Frank DiCenso of Stoneham and James DiCenso of Medford. Anna was the daughter-in-law of Anna Antonellis of Newton, and sister-in-law of Larry Antonellis and his wife Judy, Cedsidia Bennington and her husband Mike, all of Newton. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10AM at the church. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
