John M. Orlowski, 74

Dateline: Norton, MA

John M. Orlowski, age 74, of Norton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Easton, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the longtime loving partner and companion of Eleanor Landa.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on November 14, 1941, he was a loving son of the late John and Stella (Zdziarski) Orlowski.

John spent his early childhood living in Brooklyn prior to his family moving to Hudson, NY where he was a graduate of Hudson High School.

Mr. Orlowski was the founding owner of Forensic Engineers & Technologists, a company he proudly operated for over thirty years. He originated his business in Norwood and later relocated it to Norton.

John had made his home in Norton for the past twenty-one years and previously resided in Norwood.

John was an avid and accomplished chess player, of which he was ranked on a national level. He later turned his passion to poker and enjoyed playing in tournaments. John also enjoyed reading and was a member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton.

In addition to Eleanor, he is survived by his devoted children Tania Vega and her husband Fabian of Maryland, John Orlowski and his wife Kay of Florida, and Michael Orlowski and his wife Meredith of California. He was the dear brother of Richard Orlowski of New York and is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Isabella Vega, Maya and Brady Orlowski, and Rowan and Willem Orlowski,

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a celebration of John’s life on Sunday, September 11th at 5:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be prior to the services beginning at 3:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.

In place of flowers, John’s family prefers that donation in his memory be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, One Bullfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114.
