Barbara E. Damery, 65

Dateline: Quincy, MA

Barbara E. (Foley) Damery, age 65, of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 the Spaulding Nursing & Therapy Center in the North End of Boston following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in South Boston, MA on December 15, 1950, she was a loving daughter of the late James and Anne (Greene) Foley.

Barbara grew up in Dorchester and was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School. She had made her home in Quincy for the past eight years and as a former longtime resident of Dorchester.

For the past 20 years, Barbara had worked as an inspector for the MBTA, recently retiring in July of this year. She was a member of the MBTA Inspectors Union Local 600 and the Local 589 Boston Carmen’s Union. She had formerly worked for several loan institutes.

When younger, she along with her family attended St. Mark’s Church in Dorchester. She loved spending time with her family, especially during the holiday seasons, annual trips to Foxwoods Casino on Valentines Day and will always be remembered for her strong work ethics.

She was the dear and devoted sister of James and his wife Lou Ann Foley of CA, Karen A. and her husband Kevin Doyle of Mansfield and the late Michael P. Foley whose wife Lysa Foley lives in CA. She was the adoring aunt of Dylan, Logan, Kaitlyn, Jennifer and Jacqueline Foley, Brian and his wife Nicole Mason, Jesse and his wife Susan Mason and Vanessa and her husband Bryan Hamill. She is also survived by her cherished great niece and great nephews, as well as many loving aunts, cousins and friends.

Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday, September 12th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.

Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Barbara with a donation in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701
