Madeline May Mercer (Dracopoulos) Ouellette, a longtime Woburn resident, succumbed to Alzheimer`s Disease on August 30, 2016. She was 84 years of age. Born in Castine, Maine she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lottie (Lewis) Mercer.
As a young child, Madeline moved with her family to Malden, MA, where she graduated from Malden High School. Madeline would work at several places during her life, Federal Bank in Boston, Transitron in Wakefield, Almys` in Burlington, Cummings Park and Towne Book Fair in Woburn, but her heart and soul was always at home as a loving devoted Mother and Grandmother. Madeline`s spirit and smile could always light up the room and warm your heart.
In addition to her late parents, Arthur and Lottie Mercer, Madeline is sadly predeceased by her brothers Lemuel Mercer, Arthur "Buddy" Mercer Jr., sisters, Dorothy Jenkins, Violet Johnson, Phyllis Johnson, and Mildred Wasson, beloved sisters-in-law Gail Mercer and Gwen Mercer.
Madeline leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, R.F. Roger Ouellette, son Glenn Dracopoulos and wife Linda of Fountainville PA, son Scott Dracopoulos and companion Susan Scaduto of Kissimmee, FL, daughter Lori Miller and husband Donnie Glasgow, KY. She was the loving grandmother of Sarah Rose and husband Yona, Peter, Kelci and Cody Dracopoulos, Alan Miller and wife Amanda, Katie Schamp and husband Wayne. Sister of Lester Mercer of Peabody and also survived by many dear nieces & nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Saturday, September 3rd, at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
