WORCESTER-Mary Ellen (Seymour) Murray, 86, of May Street, died Friday, July 29th at her home after a long battle with cancer. Her husband Walter J. Murray died in 1991. She leaves a son; Bernard J. and his wife Susan Murray of Worcester, a daughter; Margaret M. wife of Robert W. Scott, Jr. of South Yarmouth, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by 5 brothers; Daniel, John, Leo, Hubert and Bernard Seymour, and 2 sisters; Dorothy and Frances.
She was born in Boston the daughter of Edward P. and Helene M. (Burneau) Seymour. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and attended Ward Business School. Mrs. Murray had been a secretary for Harrington and Richardson, Company for 3 years. She was an original communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle church and she enjoyed cooking, playing the organ, was a crochet master and cat lover. Most of all she loved her family.
The funeral will be Monday, August 1st, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 9:30 until 10:30 the morning of the funeral.
