Frank M. Stewart, Jr., 76, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016. He was a retired detective with the Louisville Police Dept., where he worked in the homicide unit, also retired from the Jefferson County City Public Works Dept. He was a Sherriff and worked for the Hall of Justice Police. He was a member of the FOP Lodge #6, Louisville Police Officers Association, Sunset Masonic Lodge #915, Kosair Shrine and the Scottish Rite. He was an avid John Wayne collector. He graduated from Valley High School and attended both UK and UL colleges.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathleen E. (Feldhaus).
He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen O. Stewart-Visser (Steve); granddaughter, Danaylee “Rosie” Visser; two brothers, John Stewart and Alynn Stewart (Tanya).
His funeral will be 11am Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with burial at St. Michael Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 pm to 8 pm on Friday.
