Obituary

Luke Sweeney, Esquire, 62, of West Wareham formerly of Lakeville died August 30th in the Brockton Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Brenda A. (Moore) Sweeney, father of Amanda A. Vincent, Alexandra E., Gerard L., Colleen P. Sweeney and a grandson Quinten Sorel of Fall River. He was the son of Geraldine P. and the late Gerard S. Sweeney and favorite brother of Sean Sweeney and late brother Mark Sweeney. He is also survived by many aunts and cousins.

Luke grew up in Milton, attended St. Agatha Grammar School, Thayer Academy, Bridgewater State College, University of Maine (Masters in English) and New England School of Law.

A long time Brockton Attorney, he practiced law from the Lawyers Building on Belmont Street.

An Avid fisherman, Luke holds the long standing International Game Fish Association’s World Record for the 1221 pound Mako Shark he landed in 2001.

Luke’s proudest accomplishments are his beloved children whom he cherished dearly.

A Celebration of Luke's Life will be held in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Friday September 2nd from 6-9 pm. A Prayer Service will be conducted at 8 pm.
