North Smithfield
Normand J. Bernier Jr 62, of Laurel Lane, died Sunday August 28, in the Philip Hulitar Center in Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Theresa (Raftery) Bernier. He was born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Normand Bernier Sr, and the late Therese (Belhumeur) Bernier.
Normand was an insurance adjuster for Liberty Mutual and Metropolitan Insurance Companies and later worked as a custodian for the North Smithfield School Dept. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Brian and Brendan Bernier also of North Smithfield.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St John the Evangelist Church in Slatersville. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Hope Hospice Palliative Care, 1085 North Main St, Providence RI 02904.
