Louis J. Luccio, Jr. 78, of Medway, died August 29 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston. He was the husband of Helen E. (McGuiggin) Luccio, to whom he would have been married for 55 years this October.
Born in Boston, October 14, 1937, the son of the late Louis J. and Catherine (Davis) Luccio, Sr., Mr. Luccio was raised in Roxbury and had lived in Medway since 1964.
He had been a construction worker for the J.F. White Construction Company for many years. He was also a truck driver for ITT-Continental Baking (Wonder Bread) for 20 years and also worked for Advanced Signing in Medway for 20 years.
Louis had been a member of the Teamsters Local 4 and the Knights of Columbus, Edward Cassidy Council.
Louis enjoyed his family, fishing, reading and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots. He also loved music and was an accomplished accordionist.
Mr. Luccio served in the Navy during the late 1950’s.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Louis J.Luccio, III and his wife Susan of Uxbridge, Michael Luccio of Sandwich, Maribeth Kindred and her husband Ralph of Franklin and Jennifer Phipps and her husband John of Millville.
He is also survived by his sisters Catherine McDonough of Braintree and Carol Farwell of Walpole.
Louis is also survived by his grandchildren, Justin, Alexandra, Louis IV, Victoria, Riley, Shane, Jaclyn, Jenna and Jillian and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 2 in St. Joseph Church at 11:00 am.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30-10:30am in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway.
