NATICK: Constance M. (Snider) Flannery, age 79, a devoted mother, grandmother, and dedicated volunteer, died peacefully at her Natick home on Friday, August 26, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Richard “Dick” Flannery, who died last September.
Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Rhoda (Marget) Snider. Connie was raised at the Hotel Fensgate in Back Bay, which was owned and operated by her father. The Fensgate was an exciting place for Connie, one she held close for the rest of her life.
Connie attended Emerson College. She, along with her first husband George Rosen, raised their family in Newton. After relocating to the Natick area, Connie was employed for many years with Olympic Credit Service in their collections area. She and Dick were married in 1996.
Constance spent many years doing volunteer work with the Samaritans’ Hotline, and at Kathleen Daniel Nursing Center and Leonard Morse/MetroWest Medical Center. A great proponent of blood donation, she gave her assistance (and her blood) at countless blood drives. Connie was blessed with wonderful friends, both old and new. She loved to socialize, play Mahjong, and meet new people at the hospital, but was happiest in the company of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey M. Rosen and his wife Debra of Murrieta, CA, and Phillip L. Rosen of Boston; her daughter, Patricia A. Rosen of Franklin; and two grandchildren, Sarah Cleveland and her husband Aaron, and Joshua Rosen.
All are welcome to visit with Connie’s family at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Thursday, September 1st from 4 - 7PM.
Donations may be made in her memory to MetroWest Medical Center, attn: Gloria Pascual, Director of Volunteer Services, 67 Union Street, Natick, MA 01760.
