Ilene Hair Fletcher, 82, of Irwin County, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 27, 2016, following a battle with cancer.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Monday, August 29, 2016, at Eureka Cemetery in Irwin County with Chaplain Landon Alberson officiating.
Mrs. Fletcher was born October 11, 1933, in Eastman, Georgia, to the late John Henry, Sr., & Hattie Tripp Hair, one of 11 children born to the couple. She grew up in Eastman and left home after graduating from Dodge County High School, moving to Jacksonville, Florida to be near her older sisters. She worked for Southern Bell and years later returned to Irwinville, retiring from the Irwin County Board of Education.
She is survived by her son, Reggie Fletcher, Jr. of Irwin County; a daughter, Lori & Cameron Alexander of Lawrenceville; a grandson, Dylon Shands; a step-grandson, Cam Alexander, II; and two sisters: Florence “Flo” & Mel Clark and Lucille Haynes, all of Jacksonville, Florida. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
