Edna E. (Hayes) Lowder, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday August 26th, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Lowder.
Born on May 4, 1931, Edna was raised in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School.
Edna and her husband raised their family in Whitman, where she resided for many years. Edna was a proud homemaker and later in life worked at the Plymouth County Hospital in Hanson where she made many friends.
Edna’s greatest joys in life were making a home for her family, baking, collecting music boxes, and spoiling her grand kids.
Edna is survived by her four sons, Michael and his late wife Mary Lou of Berkley, MA; James and his wife Deborah of New Berlin, WI; Robert and his wife Judith of Bridgewater, MA; Brian and his wife Darlene of Raynham, MA. Edna was the very proud Nana of ten grandchildren: Michael and his wife Tonya of Hopewell, VA; Jennifer Cunningham and her husband Rob of Plymouth, MA; Griffin of New Berlin, WI; Kristen and Brett of Bridgewater, MA; Jarred of Pembroke, MA; Sean, Jason, Emily, and Logan of Raynham, MA; and the very proud Nana of four great grandchildren: Dylan and Race of Hopewell, VA; Casey and Rob, Jr. of Plymouth, MA.
