Debbie Lee Tomberlin, 47 of Wheeler County, Georgia, died Thursday, July 28, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Elder Jimmy Bedingfield officiating. Visitation will be from 7 until 9, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tomberlin was born August 5, 1957, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Regionald Lee and the late Wilma Dean Thompson. Her Mother and Stepfather, Alden Alligood raised her. She moved to Lumber City in December of last year from Fitzgerald. Mrs. Tomberlin was a former secretary for Ben Hill County Magistrate Tom Lester and a former employee of Gene’s Furniture. She was a member of Crossview Baptist Church, formerly Northside Baptist, where she sang in the youth choir.
She is survived by her husband: David Lee Tomberlin of Wheeler County; stepfather: Alden Alligood of Moultrie; stepson: Jonathan David Tomberlin of Wheeler County; brother: Jim Thompson of Fitzgerald; sister: Vera Peacock of Dothan, AL; aunts & uncles: Olean & Gene Davis of Fitzgerald and Brenda & Jimmy Bedingfield of Irwin County. An infant son, Jeremy Allen Speight, preceded her in death.
