Dartmouth – George C. Ambrosio, age 92, passed away on Thursday August 25, 2016 at his home in Dartmouth. He was the loving husband of Mary C. Ambrosio and the son of the late Joseph and Almorinda (Mello) Ambrosio.
George was born in New Bedford and worked as a Letter Carrier for the USPS until his retirement in 1978. He was also a member of the Whaling City Golf Course in New Bedford.
He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Ambrosio of Dartmouth; son, Mark Ambrosio of North Providence, RI; nieces and nephews, Judy Desrochers, Dr. Thomas Openshaw, Genivieve Poente and Joyce Foster.
George was predeceased by his sister, Mary Carreiro.
A service will be held Saturday morning at 9:00 A.M. Those who like to attend are asked to be at the funeral home for 8:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
