It is a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Louis (Louie) David Speight, 57, on August 13th 2016, at his home in Anderson CA with his devoted family by his side.
Louie was born in Ventura June 12th, 1959 and raised in Ojai, born to Daniel Speight Jr. and Odeis C. Speight. The youngest of 5 children, he was raised in Ojai CA and graduated Nordhoff High School in 1977. He met the love of his life Teresa Danna cruising Main St. of Ventura CA in his Ford Mustang. They soon married on August 24th, 1978. Louie and Teresa settled in Ventura CA where they raised their three daughters, eventually moved to Anderson CA (Redding area) area upon retiring after 30 years as a Transit Mixer Driver.
Louie was never one to sit still with his many hobbies such as mechanics, landscaping, and wood working. Many items of the beautiful furniture he built could be found around the home and were always a great joy to him and his family. He was known to be the witty jokester of the family enjoying a good laugh with the ones he loved. His biggest joy was to play tricks on Teresa when she least expected it making sure to bring his daughters in on the fun. This was always met with good laugh by Teresa after she realized her gullibility. Louie always made sure there was never a dull moment in the Speight Family with his sense of humor and his vibrant personality.
He was survived by his loving wife of 37 years Teresa, daughters Kimberly (Kim) of Anderson CA, Kristina (Krissy) of Oxnard CA, Kassandra (Kassie) of Torrance CA, and grandchildren Jazzmine and Joe O’Connor for whom “papa” always held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his Brother Daniel Speight VI of Redding CA and his sister Lura Miller of Ventura CA. Louie was predeceased by his parents, sister Georganna Speight, and his sister Judy Johnson.
The Family is very grateful for all of the support they received during Louie’s illness and to Interim Health of Redding CA who provided his hospice care.
