Obituary

Judith C. (Houlihan) Spellman, age 73, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 21, 2016 at home. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John, PFC WWII Army Veteran and Madeline (McCarthy) Houlihan. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and spent a number of years working for State Street Bank as a Foreign Exchange Specialist. Judith enjoyed spending time with her cherished grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo, trips to Foxwoods and family gatherings, especially around the holidays.

Judith was the mother of Jon W. Anderson and his wife Catherine of Bridgewater and Paul A. Anderson of Lakeville; loving grandmother of Michael and Steven Anderson and Jared, Reid, Shonah and Seth Anderson. She also leaves her cousins Kathy and Rick Andrews of West Bridgewater, Rob and Donna Austin of Bridgewater, Mary Rudolph of Wisconsin, Eddie McCarty and his wife Susan of Brockton, Steve McCarthy and his wife Gail of West Bridgewater and Jeannie McCarthy of Brockton; and a dear friend Andrea Hardigan of Brockton. She was the sister of the late John Houlihan, Corporal Vietnam Marine Corps Veteran and the former wife of the late Allan Anderson.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday September 10, from 8:30 to 9:30am followed by a memorial service at 9:30am. Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wood Street, Middleboro. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in Judith’s name to Boston Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
