Obituary

Ford, Janet A. (Prescott) of Milton formerly of Dedham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home, August 23, 2016. Janet was born in Cambridge and raised her family in Dedham before moving to Milton. Beloved wife of the late Richard E. Ford. Loved by her children Pamela McEleney and her husband Jerry of Canton, Ginny Corcoran and her husband Frank of Milton, Nancy Rennell of Shrewsbury and Richard (Scott) Ford and his wife Brenda of North Grafton. Survived by loving grandchildren Timothy Corcoran, Taylor Rennell, Brendan Corcoran, Caitlin Rennell, Gerard McEleney, J. Kirsten McEleney, and Grace Corcoran. 

Janet started Girl Scout Troop 614 in Dedham, former Regent and active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Contentment Chapter in Dedham. She volunteered at the John F. Kennedy Library, Norwood Hospital, Milton  Hospital, served on the Finance Committee in Dedham. She loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, water aerobics, chorus, Brewster, RI, Sandwich NH and Squam Lake. Formerly a customer service administrator of the 3M Corporation for many years. Janet was very Patriotic and loved this country and her family. 

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. Dedham on Tuesday August 30, at 9am followed by a funeral service in The Church of the Good Shepherd, 62 Cedar St. (Oakdale Square) Dedham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Monday August 29 from 5-8pm. Interment in Holyhood Cemetery, Chestnut Hill. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Janet’s memory to DAR Contentment Chapter, c/o Ginny Mucciaccio, 14 Thompson St. Dedham, MA 02026.
