David Kaeton, age 91, of Somerset, passed away on August 24, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband to Irondina (Sousa-Ferreria) Kaeton. Born in Somerset, he was the son of the late Manuel & Maria Santa (Jesus) Caetano. David was a desk and cabinet maker for Harvey Probber Furniture and a devout member and served as a Deacon for both the Calvary Temple and the Portuguese Assembly of God for many years. He was also a member of the choir. He enjoyed bowling, farming and gardening. He was an avid fan of the Red Sox. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David also leaves behind his children David Katon (wife Paula) of Somerset, Edith Martin (husband William) of Chelmsford, MA and Timothy Katon (wife Michelle) of Brandon, FL; grandchildren, Eric Katon, Joel Katon, Jacqueline SooHoo, Shannon Conlon, Timothy Katon, Jr. and Anna Katon; 6 great-grandchildren, Wyatt Katon, Leah Katon, Jackson SooHoo, Katon SooHoo, Robert Conlon III and Bear Conlon; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Conceição Nunes, Joshua Kaeton, Merces Mello and Sadie Kaeton.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Funeral Service at Calvary Temple at 10 A.M. Interment in Nathan Slade Cemetery. Calling hours on Monday from 4-8 P.M.
