Margaret E. (Stockbauer) LeFever, 76, of New Bedford died August 21, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital after a year long illness.
Born and raised in Lancaster, PA, the daughter of the late Henry and Teresa (Fritz) Stockbauer, she lived in New Bedford since 1980.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Margaret was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Lancaster, PA and was a registered nurse for 55 years. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lancaster, PA for 20 years before retiring from Sacred Heart Home in New Bedford, MA.
Margaret was a member of the Third Order of the Franciscans of the Immaculate at Our Lady's Chapel.
Survivors include 2 sons, Carl LeFever and his wife Belinda of Lancaster, PA and Christopher LeFever and his wife Annemarie of Lakeville; a daughter, Mary Surprenant and her husband Tom of Oak Bluffs; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 25th at 11 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Her family will receive guests at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford on Thursday morning from 9-10:30 AM prior to her Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph's New Catholic Cemetery in Lancaster, PA on Friday, August 26th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Our Lady's Chapel 600 Pleasant St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
