RAYNHAM – Americo Ribau Ferreira of Raynham, husband of 35 years to Maria F. (Lino) Ferreira, died at Good Samaritan Hospital on August 21, 2016. He was 58.
Born in Gafanha da Encarnacão, Portugal, he came to this country in 1986. He was the son of the late Jose L. and Costodia (Ribau) Ferreira.
Americo was employed as a member of the Carpenter’s union, Local #LU2168 Boston for many years as a floor layer until his retirement in 2013. He was loving, caring, and devoted to his family. Americo also enjoyed fishing and farming.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Monica Ferreira of Raynham and Andrea Ferreira of Somerset; seven brothers, Josè Ferreira, João Ferreira, Antonio Ferreira, Louis Ferreira, Alirio Ferreira, Tino Ferreira and Manuel Ferreira, all of Portugal; two sisters, Rosa Ferreira and Lurdes Ferreira, both of Portugal; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, on Friday, August 26th at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours will be at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to his service.
Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
