BEVERLY: Scott B. Woodbury, 57, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 20, 2016 following complications from hip surgery. He was the devoted husband of the late Linda M. Woodbury who passed last October after thirty-seven years of marriage.
Born in Beverly on March 8, 1959, he was the son of Sandra (Wiley) Woodbury and the late John E. Woodbury. Scott dedicated twenty-two years serving in the United States Air Force, retiring honorably as a Master Sergeant.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his four children, Sharlyne Woodbury, Scott L.J. Woodbury and his wife, Lyndsey, Matthew Woodbury and Kathlyne Woodbury; one grandson, Leo Scott Woodbury; three sisters, Cindy and her husband Steve Boraizia, Candace Woodbury, Cheri and her husband Mark Taliento; two brothers, Jack Woodbury and his wife Lois, and Wayne Woodbury; mother-in-law, Arlyne Cassidy; two brothers-in-law, Brian Cargile and John Kelley, III; two sisters-in-law, Colleen and her husband John Walke, Leanne Cassidy. Plus many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Karen Cargile, his father-in-law, John Cassidy and sister-in-law, Kelly Vida.
Scott had many interests in life. He was a great family man. Along with his beloved wife he especially enjoyed celebrating Christmas with the family, his favorite time of the year. He was a leader in the Boy Scouts and a 33 degree Mason of the Scottish Rite. A life-long Patriots fan, Scott enjoyed every game.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday at the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 10 A.M. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veteran (DAV), a charitable service trust, www.dav.org.
