BRADFORD: Rudolph J. Rogers, Jr., 89, died on Saturday, August 20, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Arlene B. (Waning) Rogers with whom he shared sixty-seven years of marriage.
He was born in Lawrence on September 4, 1926 and was the son of the late Rudolph J. and Edna (DeRoche) Rogers. He was a resident of Ward Hill for many years and had resided in Deerfield, New Hampshire for the last twenty years. Rudolph graduated from St. James High School. He was enlisted in the United States Navy from 1944 until 1946. While in the Navy he was stationed in the Philippines and worked on building new air strips. Rudolph was employed as a supervisor at the former Knipe Bros. Shoe Manufacturing for many years and retired from Lucent Technologies in 1990 where he worked as a layout operator.
He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Camping, horseshoes, golf and playing cards were among other activities he loved spending time doing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Patricia Giaquinta and her husband, Ronald of Deerfield, NH, Michael Rogers and his wife, Donna of Hampstead, NH, Scott Rogers of Methuen and Tim Rogers of Deerfield, NH; six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Jean and her husband, Dr. Robert Jean of Freemont, NH and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his two brothers, Robert and Ronald Rogers.
A funeral service for Rudolph will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 52 Salem Street, Bradford. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his name to the Compassionate Care Hospice, 25 Nashua Road, #3, Londonderry, NH 03053.
