Billy Eugene Heath, 88, of Tifton passed away Monday, August 22, 2016, at Legacy Village in Tifton. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Dr. Fred Evers officiating. Mr. Heath will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 24, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jarrod Heath, Tyrone Dean, Lawton Bassett, Richie Tucker, Marty Miller and Le Bassett will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 18, 1927 in Tifton, Mr. Heath was the son of the late Fred Starling Heath and Gladys Anna Moncrief Heath. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Elaine Driggers. He was retired from the United States Postal Service and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Tifton. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Heath is survived by his wife, Marion Norman Heath of Tifton; two sons, William Scott Heath and wife, Andrea Brooks Heath and Ronald Eugene Heath and Betty Lankford Heath, all of Tifton; a sister, Joyce Leonard of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Zoe Heath Dean and husband, Tyrone Dean of Tifton, Skyler Heath of Aurora, Colorado, William D. Driggers, Jr. of Savannah and Jarrod Heath of Tifton; and two great-grandchildren, Charlotte Dean and Norah Kate Dean.
