Travis Van Hogan, 53, of Fitzgerald, died, Sunday, August 21, 2016, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, August 23, 2016, from 6-8 at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Travis was born January 27, 1963, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Lavada Mathis Hogan and the late Robert Hogan. Travis was a Truck Driver and Welder; and loved to work on old classic cars. His passion was his children and most of all, his one grandson, Travis Samuel Hogan, Jr. He never met a stranger and was very well known; and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his children: Dawn Hogan and fiancé Brandon Purvis of Fitzgerald, Travis “Sam” Hogan of Irwinville, Kimberly Paul of Fitzgerald; his grandson, Travis Samuel Hogan, Jr. of Fitzgerald; two brothers, Wayne Hogan and wife Donna of Cordele, Lacy Hogan and wife Bobbie Jean of Fitzgerald; his sister, Karen H. Bongers of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hogan, brother, Johnny Carroll and a sister, Linda H. Stegall.
